Ernie Harwell, Mr. Baseball, His Last Inning at 92.

You see – when we think of Ernie Harwell, most people automatically hear his renowned voice. A voice that for decade after decade filled every open space of air, where ever there was a loyal Tiger fan and a dusty old radio. His voice echoed from basement-workshops and backyard-garages with pennants tacked to the walls, from front porches on warm summer nights and corner gas stations during the heat of a slow Sunday afternoon. Wherever you were at, Ernie was there with you and he took you to the game, from the very first pitch to the final out in the last inning, when you couldn’t be there in person, but had the time to listen to his colorful, fabulous descriptions of the action.

Even now, when we reflect back to days and years gone by, times past, we can still see ourselves wherever we were at, doing whatever we were doing way back then and still hear that voice in the background doing what he loved to do for us.

He announced many games during many different things that were happening in and around the city of Detroit and Ernie became one of those people who put many others at ease. Whenever they heard his voice coming from the radio, you were confident that when Ernie was broadcasting the day’s game, everything was all right in the world.

I have never heard of anyone who was as well liked as Ernie or who has come across as being as nice a fellow as he was. Many souls will miss him greatly, as his passing brings us all just a little step closer to our own mortality.

Another season of our lives down here has ended and now a famous announcer calls the plays above, just waiting to introduce us to the rest of the team who has gone on and joined the big game before we do.

Thanks for the Memories Sir and for being the great role model that you were and by the way, until I get there, can you save me a seat behind the dugout! I still need a few more autographs!

Tiger Woods accepts Nike commercial with style.

I am not to happy with what he has done in his marriage, but they also say that it takes two to tango, or so I’ve heard. But there was one thing that I was glad to see happen regarding the New Nike commercial.

Go find it on You Tube, and see how you think you may have handled it. I feel that he did an exceptional job with his comments about it, and if he actually meant them, then he won that round as far as I’m concerned.

In the commercial, you see a frozen picture of Woods and there is a voice talking to him which is supposed to be his father, from heaven and he is asking him if he learned anything etc. etc.. etc…

Woods commented that his dad always had a way of talking to him when he needed it. Those aren’t his words exactly, but that’s what I got out of his comments about the commercial.

Sure, Nike ran the ad for exposure, but for whatever reason it was done, many people would have gotten mad about the use of their father.

For his reaction to this ad, I have to salute his coolness and adult demeanor. Maybe his problems have helped him to grow more as a person than in the past.

T’s UP to Mark Levin and Down to Sean Hannity

Thumbs Up, Mark Levin is an American guy with an agenda of clearing out and bringing light to the corrupt B.S. that takes place in this great country daily. He is the guy who is on the line for the regular American Citizen and not trying to sell a bunch of crap to get rich.

Oh sure he has a book to sell or maybe a few of them, I’m not sure. But one thing is different from the way Sean Hannity does it, he actually cares about what is going on in America and doesn’t give a rats ass if he walks away with a dime while doing it.

In my further oppinion, Sean Hannity on the other hand is one of those guys who is charging for Sign-Up on his site and selling what he can to line his wallet. He says he cares about America but when you go to his site to see what his spiel is all about they want you to register and pay $5.95 a month before you can hear any of his archived radio broadcasts.

Now either he is making millions from people wanting to hear his shows for $5.95 a month or he is just set on trying to make a buck. I doubt it’s millions so he would probably do better to drop the $5.95 charge per month and to make his material free. Then I may want to buy his book. NOT. By charging, he’s got as much of a chance to get rich as old Uncle Jed did while hunting for food. It isn’t likely to happen!

So listen up to Mark Levin, because he is the guy who is doing it for us for FREE and trying to make America a better place for all and for generations to come!

Please, Lighten up will you!

The new Burger commercial with the crazy King in it, is causing health care professionals of the psychological type to be outraged. (find it on You Tube, search- crazy king, the king or burger king)

They all have their boxers and panties in a wad and they are fit to be tied, (with a rope or straight jacket, whatever their preference) and are speaking out against the ad.

They feel that the crazy King is making fun of the poor unfortunate souls that these doctors deal with on a daily basis. The mentally challenged and crazy bunch who reside in mental institutions across America and around the globe.

Well, how do you think our beloved senior citizens in America felt, when the “Where’s the Beef” lady was shouting out about cheep hamburgers being served by the fast food industry in America, making them all look like a bunch of cheep penny-pinching Kooks!

How about those individuals who are from Southern decent, who had to withstand years of torture by the “Hey, Does that thing got a Hemi” guy in the Dodge commercials? That didn’t make the Southerners look to awful brilliant now did it!

“I’ve fallen and I can’t get up” is another one that picked on seniors for a long long time.

How about this one, it offended millions across America. The hairless bug-eyed Chihuahua (little dog) that ran around Shouting “YOQUERO TACO BELL”. They stood up to the torment of being labeled as eating Mexican food, just because of their name. Mexican Chihuahua. They stood there on their short little legs and took it for years and without so much as a squeak from any of them. Even they knew it was all in fun!

So all I have to say is lighten up. You shrinks and psychiatric doctors aren’t Gods,  so get off your high horse and learn to laugh about things a little bit, I’m warning you all, Because I hear that in the next Commercial, they are going to turn the tables on you. So you better learn to laugh about things and do it quick, before the two guys in white suits come after YOU!

South Hadley High School Faculty should be Jailed

When the faculty of a school lets bullying happen to the extent that it did in this case, they should be Jailed! Incompetence is not an excuse, ever, by anyone, to not at least seek help and get suggestions on how to handle a situation that could escalate into violence.

Apparently what had happened was the students began to pick on a girl because of a failed romance with a popular boy in the school. The group of juvenile delinquents harassed the girl to the point of taking her own life because of the torment she had been going through for months.

Now the prosecutor, has several of the bullies up on some serious charges which they indeed should be.

Northwestern District Attorney Elizabeth Scheibel announced the charges and to many peoples amazement, they didn’t include not one single charge brought against any of the faculty at the school or in the ruling board of education for the school district.

Scheibel apparently stated that no charges were being sought against the faculty because they had “a lack of understanding of harassment associated with teen dating relationships,” and the school’s code of conduct was interpreted and enforced in an “inconsistent” manner. Meaning the faculty failed to follow through on rule enforcement and discipline in many other instances as well.

Then answer me this, Why the hell are those people allowed to run and fill critical positions at a high school, if they are not educated enough to perform the job duties that go along with the positions!

Like I said before, Ignorance is not an excuse! EVER! Tell any judge you didn’t know the law and listen to what they tell you oh sad unknowing individual. I will add further that whoever the charging prosecutor may be, they are as guilty of the same negligence and need to also spend a few good years behind bars for not charging the faculty, all the way up to Gus Sayer the school Superintendent. (Maybe a few of them are related some how or something? Someone should check into that!)

The students acted wrongly and should all be tried, but the administration at the school failed to act in prevention of what they were informed was happening and should equally be tried as well, because their lack of action contributed directly to the girls death.

Apparently according to Massachusetts representative John Scibak, there is a Bully Awareness bill being worked on there, but he  didn’t mention anything about investigating why the adults involved aren’t being brought up on charges. All he basically commented to, was that they should possibly be reprimanded for their failures to prevent this tragic act of bullying from taking place. Why isn’t anyone going after the acting adults in this case? What the hell is being covered up in that state!

If that county keeps these people in the school system, there’s a lot that we as parents won’t tolerate and that would definitely be a major one, because that girl could have been any one of our children! That kind of ignorance of individuals in administrative positions won’t be tolerated, for the safety of all of the kids!

Students and parents alike, must take a stand to never let this happen again, and see this through or else the next individual taking their life could hit closer to home!

Three year old Drummer, and He’s Great and Happy.

You know I ran across this little guy the other day on YOU TUBE and I just had to give him a spot here at Moneys Tight.

This precious little boy is Great, and the happiness that shows on his face with that wide open mouth grin is just to much. I can’t remember the last time I experienced that kind of true joy and fun like he is obviously having.

This little guy is talented and I sure hope that his parents lead him towards a career in music, for as long as he wants to play.

This is what Free Range Children SHOULD BE ABOUT. Not RUNNING LOSE!

It also shows me why Grandmas and Aunts always squeeze kids cheeks!

Great News!

Great News Everybody, In the US there are 16% more millionaires now, than there was in 2008! And that increase happened during the worst part of the recession. I wonder if the 16% of unemployed and the 16 million people who lost their homes had something to do with those new millionaires, some how. Don’t you think?  Anyway Isn’t that great. Whoo Wee. Yeah. Hoo.

I know what to do. All of the unemployed out there, rush down to the boat docks and to the country clubs of America and lets all celebrate with them.

Yea right, they’d have some big security guard throw you out on your ear and we all know it. Besides, if anyone did get in, you already know there wouldn’t be a place for you with your name on it, unless it was the White House and you weren’t supposed to be on the guest list.

You see, those new millionaires  got that way, because they helped fuel a bad recession by putting people out of work in order to make those millions.

As long as that last dollar they cut from laying you off, put them over the top, that’s all that matters. The ironic thing is, that if all of them were asked, I bet there isn’t a single one that would remember your name if they had been the one who let you go.

That’s millionaires and that folks is how much they care about you and how much of a human being they really are to everyone, except their own.

Any millionaires in the crowd care to take a stab at a rebuttal? It’s your stage!

Education and Unity, a Countrys Basic Needs to Survive.

America is a melting pot of almost every nationality and ethnic group known to man. However it is becoming a country more and more divided by everyone’s personal beliefs and ways.

I celebrate this holiday and you celebrate that holiday, but one thing is for sure. If we continue to live separately, with our separate ways and teachings, then generation after generation citizens will become more and more divided and wanting things their own way, instead of agreeing on what’s best for all and for the country.

This is a country formed by many nationalities over 230 years ago. People who were then willing to put their own nationalities on the back shelf  and go along with what was put on paper for everyone in this country to believe in and follow as Americans.

Without the Unity, that starts with the schools educational curriculum about the United States, Americans will just separate more and more until everyone only wants whats relates to them and is willing to step on their neighbor to have it that way.

It started with the formation of a country, in which at that time, ALL of the people who formed it, felt devoted to it. They became “One Nation, Under God, Indivisible, with Liberty and Justice for All.” With a Declaration in which they wrote, “All Men Are Created Equal.”

We have problems, with people and even our own government, fighting about everything in this country because of everyone’s personal heritage and beliefs and it won’t get any better unless we start to put the Country back in the school system. Let our children be the true natural-born citizens of this great country that they are, joined together in learning that America is their Country, together!

Until this Spirit is once again recognized as being the reason we are in this Great Country and it is put back in all schools where it belongs, as the corner-stone of the educational system for all our little citizens to grow up together believing in, there isn’t any person, group, organization, ethnicity, nationality, race or creed, who is pushing their own ways on everyone else, that will create a great country for everyone and have a fully functional government to top it off!

You celebrate this holiday and I will celebrate that holiday, but everyone had better learn that we have to celebrate America together, or it will vanish and the sad part is, our children will never experience the joy and freedom we had with it!

What more dangerous of a job could you have and get paid the glorious sum of SEVEN dollars an hour.

SEVEN dollars an hour, for all the responsibility, unflexable rules and all the headaches that go with it.

Gas Stations across America, YOU SUCK as employers.

All the big profits you end up making come from people who are hard working, endangering their own lives and for SEVEN dollars an hour.

Then on top of it all, you have all of your crazy rules that everyone must strictly adhere to or it’s the chopping block, with no explanation or even a thanks for anything you did.

You know darn well there are times when a cashier will go slightly over the drawer limits you set. But you set those drawer limits in stone and they may never be broken.

You are not very good management is all that it shows and here is why. You know that when there is a rush and the pumps are full, that the drawer will likely go over and while the rush continues the cashier doesn’t have the time to keep your customers happy and count and dump hundreds of dollars at the same time, YOU KNOW IT. Besides, it wouldn’t be safe either, so they wait for small breaks between customers to make the dumps.

You also penalize them for counting mistakes made when dumping their drawers, so you just hire these people and let them hang by their toes until it becomes publicly known that a mistake was made by someone, then the little big shot regional managers all strap on their firing guns and blow that person away from ever being your employee again, along with putting an unnecessary black mark on their employment history, as if they were the bad guy.

How unfair of working conditions are those. Sure the cashier could make paying customers wait while they count and drop money so their drawer doesn’t go over, and risk one of them calling and complaining that they made them wait, or worse, promote a robbery, then here comes the firing guns again.

You are just BAD management and until the day comes when every gas station clerk in this nation gets their voice heard and changes are made for a little flexibility within you system, you will continue to be just that.

You big Gas companies should respect your workers enough to make things like this change and you should also pay them a decent wage for the dangerous job they do.

BAYH/PALIN 2012 or Uncorrupted/Uncorrupted 2012

We have some people in public service who are noticing some things that Americans said have been ongoing problems for some time now.

That is causing them to step back and look at politics from the peoples viewpoint and those are the people we need to get into office to do the peoples business in Washington.

Sarah Palin and Evan Bayh are just two of these people who know that public office is a job given by the American people and that they work for the American People who are the government.

It is time to get rid of the hard core Republicans and Democrats who are bought out by big business and who will only vote their party’s way, never crossing the lines even if it is for the good of the American people.

That is why I have said it’s time to create a new system without party’s and big business contributions, that can honestly ( there’s a word you don’t hear to often in politics ) do what is best for the American people.

Many people have said many things about these two politicians and according to what I see, most if not all of the comments are meant to tear apart what they have said by bashing it with their own thoughts or ideas on political service or party loyalty.

If you just listen to what they are saying, and without interjecting your own thoughts on things, than you will see that these two are acting on what they believe is right and they are right.

They are both the very kind of people in which you would let your kids be friends with their kids. They are the kind of people you would want as neighbors to live next to you. They could even be your friends. Even though they have been into politics, they have not let politics stop them from being true representatives of the American people, knowing right from wrong!

Someone should start a site that lists all of the elected officials and fairly places them on a scale of either being willing to cross lines or totally against crossing lines as many are. Then, I don’t know about you, but I know what column I would vote from when it comes to electing government officials to decide things for the good of the American people. I would want someone Open minded and Honest!

Washington Senators walk out on Unemployed Americans!

What a shame. Why did they do it? The Washington senate walked out Friday 2/26/10 for the day before passing the EMERGENCY UNEMPLOYMENT EXTENSION which had already been passed in the House.

They left it dead and many peoples unemployment benefits will end before Monday when they come back. It was said by someone that they expect to pass it next week.

I do know this is going to affect millions who’s benefits run out and it will affect a ton of new filers also.

Just imagine how you would feel about your government if you were one of those affected by this. No job and now no money to live on at all.

I am not sure just why they didn’t understand it was an EMERGENCY EXTENSION, or the importance of it, but I guess they have to get reelected just like any politician does and that’s where the people’s voices who were effected come into play.

If you are unhappy with what the group of senators did, then the next time you see one running for reelection, make sure you register to vote and then go to your voting location and let the senator know they screwed up, by not voting them in again.

If enough people in this country start to vote in all of the elections, than maybe the elected representatives would start to get the message. They work for us!

When they decided to end the week and go to their nice plush homes for the weekend, that are paid for with the money they earn because they are  elected to work for America, they left Millions of their fellow Americans without money to pay for food or mortgages by not passing the EMERGENCY UNEMPLOYMENT EXTENSION.

That my friends is why you need to vote next time and put them out on the street without a job, if they aren’t going to do the work that is needed, when it’s needed!

I hope that the unemployment commission will straighten out everyone’s claims when the senate finally does pass it and that no one misses the extension who would have gotten it had the senators had enough concern for their fellow Americans to pass it when they should have.

This is just another example of how our government is not working correctly and how the business of America is not being done properly.

Forget they’re Asian, Just Stop the Carp!

Here is a link to the Michigan Attorney Generals site with a video and a petition for everyone to sign. We have to get this around people. Even if you are not in the state of Michigan but know someone who is from there, have them click the link and sign the petition.

I don’t hate any fish, after all I love fishing. But I don’t want one of those jumping fish to injure or kill people who are enjoying the great waterways that Michigan has to offer.

Just imagine being on skis at 40 miles per hour and getting hit by one of those fish. OUCH.

We have to get the United States Government to act responsibly and protect the Great Lakes from those fish, otherwise not only Michigan’s economy will be killed, but they may just get a bunch of residual law suits from people who were hurt or from families of people who were killed by the fish while out on the water, because the Government had a chance to do something about it but elected not to!

So sign the Attorney Generals petition the petition and pass the site address around, because this one really matters folks, Businessmen men and women alike.

Merry Christmas From Citigroup.

Citigroup announced that they were going to suspend all of their foreclosures and evictions until mid January 2010.

Well at least it’s something hey! So why aren’t the other big banks stepping up to the plate also. I guess that they are just a little less humanistic and a lot more greedy than Citigroup.

So consider that the next time you have to visit a lender.

At least Citigroup still has a little human compassion left, and views their customers as more than just a number!!!!!

Take Notice, Verizon raising early termination fees.

Verizon will raise their early termination fees to $350 per contract. So be sure that you are sure that they are the one you want to go with or else you may find yourself paying some big bucks to get out of your contract.

They will reduce the fee by $10 a month for every month you fulfill your contract. So if you cancel in the 23rd month you would still owe them $120 dollars just to walk away only one month early. Add $10 to that amount for each month sooner.

They think this is fair and they are going to find out if their customers think it’s fair if their business picks up instead of drops off.

I thought I heard somewhere a couple months ago, that these early termination fees were going to be investigated by the government. I guess they wanted to get it up there a ways before it is.

I guess Verizon doesn’t know how bad the times really are or they would have done something for America like lower their fees instead of raising them, so I guess I will be switching! (That is when my contract runs out of course!).

I will never use the service of a cell phone provider that charges over $100 in early termination fees again. Does anyone have any idea what the others are charging now?

If so, let us all know, just which companies really care about their customers and America during tough times.

Brown bag it right and Save Even More!

It would be great to go out for lunch every day as some people do, but when you can’t afford it you have to get by with the old brown bag.

I have realized something though, How you go about brown bagging it can save you even more money than you thought you would.

What I mean is there is an OK way that will save you a buck, but if you do it right you can save a couple more pretty easily and here is how.

We all like the little store bought items that come in the individual serving size store packages,  but have you compared the prices for those individual servings versus buying the large family size item and splitting it up yourself.

You wont believe it, but you are paying top dollar for all those neat little bags and packages of stuff, with all those brand names plastered on those serving containers. So what do you do?

Buy the bulk or family size items and then go buy some self stick food wrap, reusable plastic containers or get some of those reusable hot or cold food containers to put individual servings in. The zip closed bags are OK, but will end up costing you a bundle by the end of a year of lunches. Not really saving you much at all.

With the self stick food wraps, make sure you don’t fold it over to many times. Just use what covers the food and press it together gently if it really sticks good, and teach your child how to pull it open. Try to open it yourself after wrapping it and that will tell you weather or not your kids will be able to open it easily or not. Kids seem to have a problem with wrap, if it’s wrapped to much or to tightly.

You can even pack hot and cold in the same lunch with some of the new insulated carry lunch bags they sell. You will not only save and get more for your money, but your savings will grow much faster than buying those neat little packages.

And trust this also, the separated and home packed items will definitely be easier to open than most of those expensive single servings too!

So save a buck by brown bagging it correctly and pack the whole family to save even more!
