Receipts Can Save You Cash.

When you go to the store, take a look at the receipt for a few reasons. First make sure that you were fairly charged for the items that you bought. A lot of times the prices are not loaded into the computer properly and you may be overcharged for an item, especially if it is supposed to be on sale.

Now the second reason is that more and more stores are adding sections to the receipt. One of these ad-dons is usually a code for you to enter on-line after taking a survey where you can win cash for participating. These winnings usually are anywhere from a few bucks to thousands of dollars.

The third reason is a lot of stores are giving out product coupons or store discount coupons. These coupons can be used to save some money. Especially the store discount coupons.

These coupons are as good as having spare cash if you shop right. You can use only one per purchase and you usually have to spend a certain amount to get the discount, but if you are buying a whole bunch of little items just have the cashier ring them up to the discount total and pay for each batch she rings up separately and use a coupon for each batch if you have several.

I once had three store coupons good for $10 off a purchase of $50 or more. I needed a bunch of small stuff totaling around $150. The cashier rang the items to add up to $50 + each time and I was able to use up all three coupons. Saving me $30 off the $150 I would have spent.

So watch those receipts carefully and you can end up with a little more cash in your pocket too. Better in yours than in theirs. But if you don’t want them, just send them to me and I will see to it that they get used!
