Today, I went to the beachfront with my children. I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said “You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.” She placed the shell to her ear and screamed. There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear. She never wants to go back! LoL I know this is totally off topic but I had to tell someone!
A little about black friday.
It’s the day after Thanksgiving, the Friday when all the stores offer huge irresistible bargains to those who get there early. They also have many other great deals all day long.
It’s meant to get the stores earnings out of the red (a financial loss) if thats where they are and get them into the black, a financial gain in profits for the holiday shopping season.
Thats black friday! Not black any other day. So what about the stores that will open on Thanksgiving day? They are stoping the employees who have to work, from enjoying a day off with their families. Whether the stores can open or not should be left to their employees and it should be on a volunteer basis only. If they can get enough workers to volunteer to come in, then they can open, plain and simple. That way they might open and without looking like they place greed and profits, over family values and togetherness.
As for the shoppers, it’s their call whether to shop or not. That would be strictly up to them.
As for me, during that period of shopping on Thanksgiving Day,, I’d rather be watching football, playing games with the kids, cards with uncle Joe (you got to watch him, he cheats), raiding the fridge for leftovers, extra desert and doing it all comfortably at home in my sox! Besides, we all know that the stuffing only lasts a day and thats it!
You see, we work our asses off, for a whole year, for what we have and earn and I’m not giving up a day with family and friends that’s meant to enjoy what we already have, to go shopping! Deal or No Deal!
Now kids, I’ll pick suitcase 2 and 10,.! DAD YOU CAN ONLY GET TO PICK ONE! THATS CHEATING!
Hey, I got to try to beat those kids somehow, THEY ALWAYS WIN!
Besides, Uncle Joe is proud! But he is the Banker! LOL.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYBODY!
Yes, when times are tough and the family gets a little restless for something to do, turning on the stereo system is always a fun way to pass some otherwise mundane times.
It will lift your spirits whether it’s a Micro or a Mini Hifi from Panasonic, Sony, or Philips, to a rocking Ipod Docking system from Roberts or Intempo.
If you are in need of a new stereo system, one that will fit your budget and help you calm the troops is just a click away, with top models and brands to choose from. So happy shopping and listening and could you please turn it up a little, that’s my favorite tune!
Next time you are sitting around and the kids are either asking to go see or rent a movie. Take them to the library.
You see, the library has many good movies to rent for free. Yes for free.
Rent Good Movies from your Library, FREE. Well maybe they mostly aren’t the new releases but they have a lot of good ones and tons of titles for the kids! You can also try a book from time to time for you and the kids. They even have a bunch of computers you can use free. The soda machine will cost ya though!!
Fish R Man said…
Wow have you priced fish lately? Either it looks like it’s been in there a while and really smells strong, or the price is way up there.
Now I know this isn’t for everybody, but fishing can not only be a nice family get together, or a bonding moment between a parent and child, but for a great meal, you can look up the stats on fish taken from your local waters in the guide you get with your license to see if what you caught is in there and the amount that’s recommended to consume.
Bring them home and clean them or stop at a bait store and see if they will do it . Some will for a small fee. When you get home either cook them up for a tasty meal or freeze them to cook later.
This is a great resource, use it. Nothing says a Sport’s Fisherman can’t bring home a good meal every now and then. Visit the Great Lakes Sport Fishing Council on-line, great-lakes.org for a great fishing site with a ton of good information for all surrounding states.
Good Luck and Save a Buck! Now please pass me some of that perch, would you!
The Great Lakes Steamers in South Eastern Michigan put on free steam train rides for kids and adults. They ask for a few buck donation to upkeep the tracks and the trains they run.
They run the trains at two local parks once a month. I have personally rode the trains around the parks quite a number of times and each and every time I do it’s a blast, and the kids love the rides. You ride right along with them
Like I say these guys do this as a hobby and all they ask is a little donation.
I give them five bucks and the whole family rides for four hours.
Bring a picnic lunch, and some pops, and you will be there for hours.
For Information on days and times visit their site at Great Lakes Live Steamers.
